There’s a concept I recently came across from Marisa Peer that resonated so deeply with me, I had to share it. It’s a method for rewiring your mind to create the life you want—demanding, instructing, commanding, compelling, and coding your mind for success. Think of it as taking the driver’s seat of your subconscious and steering it exactly where you want it to go.
If you’ve ever felt stuck, doubted your potential, or found yourself repeating the same unhelpful patterns, this is for you.
Why Most Affirmations Don’t Work
We’ve all heard about affirmations, right? “I am confident. I am strong. I am successful.” But here’s the truth—most of us don’t believe those words as we say them. Your mind is smart. If you’re feeding it a message that doesn’t feel real, it’ll reject it. That’s why so many people give up on affirmations.
Marisa Peer’s approach is different. Instead of asking your mind to change, you demand it. You command it. You don’t hope for change—you program it into your subconscious like a piece of software.
The Five Steps to Rewire Your Mind
1. Demand
Stop tiptoeing around what you want in life. Get clear, get loud (even if it’s just in your head), and make the demand. For example:
“I demand that I show up powerfully and confidently in every situation.”
You’re not hoping for confidence; you’re calling it into existence like it’s already yours.
2. Instruct
Your mind is waiting for directions. If you don’t program it, the outside world will. Be intentional about instructing your mind:
“I instruct my mind to focus on what matters most and let go of distractions.”
When you give clear instructions, your mind has no choice but to follow.
3. Command
This is where you step into your authority. Speak to yourself as though you are in charge—because you are.
“I command my body to heal, my energy to grow, and my confidence to soar.”
This isn’t wishful thinking; it’s taking charge.
4. Compel
Sometimes, your mind needs a little extra push. You’re not asking; you’re compelling it to align with your desires.
“I compel my mind to embrace success, abundance, and gratitude every single day.”
5. Code
Finally, you code these messages into your subconscious through repetition. Just like learning a new skill or habit, coding takes practice. Repeat your demands, instructions, commands, and compelling statements daily. Speak them out loud, write them down, or visualize them until they feel like second nature.
Why This Works
Your mind is always listening. It’s always responding to the language you use—whether consciously or unconsciously. When you take charge of that language, you take charge of your life. By demanding, commanding, and coding what you want, you’re essentially training your mind to make it your new reality.
Take Action Today
Try this out. Write down three things you want to demand, instruct, command, and code into your life. Say them out loud every morning and every night. Don’t just whisper them—speak with authority.
Remember, your mind is the most powerful tool you have. Use it wisely, and watch how your life transforms.
Let me know how it works for you. What are you demanding from your life today?
